Temporary Finance Manager (Maternity Cover)

Company Description:We are a fast-growing, licensed online gambling operator looking for an experienced Finance Manager to provide seamless maternity cover for our Cape Town finance team. This is a hands-on role that requires someone who can hit the ground running in a high-volume, highly regulated environment.

Job Description:

• Prepare and manage daily cash-flow forecasts and 7–30 day rolling projections
• Oversee daily withdrawal processing, risk-based reviews, and payment authorisations
• Manage employee leave, timesheets, and monthly payroll
• Review and authorise creditor reconciliations and payment runs
• Produce and distribute daily operational stats, KPIs, and finance reports
• Handle all banking approvals and treasury-related tasks
• Process foreign currency payments (multi-currency exposure – mainly USD, EUR, GBP)
• Manage affiliate commission calculations, reconciliations, and payments
• Oversee contract management (suppliers, affiliates, payment providers)
• Prepare monthly management accounts (full P&L, balance sheet, variance analysis)
• Provide weekly cash-position updates and ad-hoc reporting to shareholders and group HQ
• Maintain and update financial policies and ensure compliance with gambling regulations and internal controls

Qualifications:

• Qualified CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA or equivalent (non-negotiable)
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience, ideally with online gambling, betting, forex, fintech or high-transaction e-commerce
• Proven experience in treasury, cash-flow management and foreign payments
• Strong Excel skills and experience with Xero, Sage, NetSuite or similar mid-market ERP
• Familiarity with South African payroll, VAT and gambling levy requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Available to start 1 February 2026 (or earlier for handover)
• Existing right to work in South Africa (no sponsorship available for this temp role)
