Don’t let the title scare you — we’ll tell you all you need to know about this position in a super exciting industry! Pari-mutuel is the French word for the most common form of horse race betting. If you’re quick with numbers and have great organizational and customer service skills, we may have a spot for you.

Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

• Accurately and efficiently selling wagers on live Prairie Meadows races and other tracks across the country.
• Maintain and balance a cash drawer
• Checking guest IDs before placing bets
• Cashing winning vouchers
• Maintaining cleanliness of window areas and guest lines

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in, or knowledge of, horse racing is helpful. Requires cash handling experience and the ability to learn, understand, and maintain the operation of the betting terminal. Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude that encourages our guests to make a return visit. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain confidentiality, and respond calmly to stressful situations. Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours. Must be able to commit to select racing dates. Job consists of long periods of standing, sitting, and walking in an indoor and outdoor environment. Must have the ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
