An internship at the Ohio Lottery Commission will add to your professional development and give you practical work experience. The internship is an opportunity to learn and work in your field of study, expand on your classroom knowledge, gain hands-on exposure, and learn about interesting careers in State government. College Interns will work closely with agency staff members on a variety of assignments.
The internship will begin in May 2026 and end in September 2026.
The position is temporary in nature, benefits are not offered.

- Support the Office of Finance-Claims department
- Assist staff with updating manuals and user guides
- Provide support for meeting records retention requirements with electronic files on SharePoint by archiving outdated materials
- Perform other duties as requested
- Reports to: Financial Analyst Supervisor
General Services-Inventory Control Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Office of General Services-Warehouse/Inventory Control department
- Assist staff with receiving incoming shipments, organizing and arranging products/merchandise, organizing shelves and pallet areas, sorting and labeling products, moving furniture and order fulfillment
- Provide assistance at Marketing or Cash Explosion events as needed
- Perform other duties as requested
- Reports to: Inventory Control Specialist Supervisor
- This internship will be located at the Ohio Lottery Commission's Central Warehouse at 4301 Perkins Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44103
Investigations & Security Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Office of Investigations & Security
- Assist staff with background checks
- Assist staff with licensing
- Work with security analytics
- Perform other duties as requested
- Reports to: Security Analyst
Sales Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Office of Sales
- Provide administrative support to various team members in the Office of Sales
- Perform various administrative tasks
- Assist with general day-to-day office operations in Sales
- Perform other duties as requested
- Reports to: Sales Director
Human Resources Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Office of Human Resources & Labor Relations
- Assist staff with job description creation
- Assist staff with job posting requisition and process
- Assist with reviewing employment applications
- Schedule interviews
- Assist with the pre-hire review process including sending out paperwork, scheduling fingerprints and drug tests and completing reference checks
- Assist staff with recruitment projects including processing large group job description updates
- Perform other duties as requested
- Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer
Communications Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Office of Communications
- Assist staff with information gathering for: publications, social media post creation, press releases, blog writing, and internal articles
- Assist with article writing
- Assist with photography
- Provide Cash Explosion customer service as needed
- Perform other duties as requested
- Reports to: Chief Communications Officer
Responsible Gambling Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Office of Responsible Gambling
- Assist staff with the collection and analysis of responsible and problem gambling data
- Review literature and compile information to support public health responsible gambling initiatives
- Participate in Ohio Lottery community health education and promotion activities
- Assist with developing responsible gambling programs
- Contribute to research studies related to responsible gambling
- Participate in meetings and professional development training opportunities
- Distribute responsible gambling educational materials and resources
- Assist with administrative tasks
- Perform other duties as requested
- Reports to: Director of Responsible Gambling and Responsible Gambling Program Coordinator
Work Hours for each Internship: Part-time variable work schedule between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday; may work up to 29 hours per week.
