Job Description:
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all facility systems within the casino and restaurant environment. This role leads the maintenance team, ensures regulatory compliance, minimizes downtime, and supports a guest-focused experience by maintaining all gaming, food & beverage, and back-of-house areas in excellent working condition.
Job Requirements:
Manage, train, and schedule the Engineering Team to ensure adequate coverage across all operational hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Oversee and perform preventive and corrective maintenance for building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment, landscaping, lighting, and audio/visual equipment.
Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including health department standards, fire and life safety codes, and OSHA regulations.
Develop and administer the department's long and short-range plans for maintaining, upgrading, and modernizing the facility.
Work in conjunction with construction projects that may impact the facilities day-to-day operations, and maintain accurate records of inspections, work orders, equipment maintenance, and regulatory documentation.
Manage maintenance agreements with outside vendors.
Respond promptly to facility emergencies and operational issues to minimize guest impact and downtime.
Prepare and recommend operating and capital budgets, and control expenditures within that budget.
Plan, direct, oversee and supervise the purchasing of all facilities/engineering supplies, equipment, and services.
Work closely with the Safety Risk Manager to ensure that safety issues are addressed.
Manage departmental budgets, inventory, and purchasing of parts, tools, and supplies.
Work with outside contractors on projects required by state and federal agencies as needed.
Conduct regular property inspections to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and opportunities for improvement.
Must have the ability to maintain composer in a potentially stressful environment.
Must be able to work independently and unsupervised.
Utilize the company work order system to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner.
