General Summary of Job Duties
Responsible for all accounting functions within the Finance Department. This position is instrumental in insuring the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly financial statements, subsidiary journals, taxes and licenses and external reporting requirements. Promote compliance with regulatory agencies and the safeguarding of Silverton assets.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
Adherence to all policies stated in the team member handbook
Perform all functions in accordance with applicable GAAP, Gaming Control Board, Federal and other laws and gaming regulations and Silverton policies and procedures
Oversee Silverton’s accounts payable, Inventory Control, as well as payroll processing
Assist with and supervising the direct month-end close (journal entries, account reconciliations, etc.)
Plan and monitor the accounting department’s balance sheet account reconciliation process and fixed asset recording and reconciliation on a monthly basis
Work directly with the executive leadership team
Provide timely, accurate financial reports
Primary responsibility and accountability for Gaming Control Board issues (regulatory and filing issues)
Participate in developing overall operating guidelines and principles for property
Develop and implement process for effective P&L review for the property and each department
Administer all filings for licenses, taxes, contracts, etc.
Review and advice on daily, weekly and monthly operating reports
Provide regulatory reports
Create a department that is proactive and responsive and schedule, evaluate, train, develop and monitor subordinate personnel
Provide tools and metrics for departments to analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of their work
Approvals as per approval matrix
Ensure clean gaming and financial audits
Help support and motivate the executive leadership team
Identify additional accounting/finance staff needed to effectively service the property
Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner
Ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned
