Job Description
Ellis Island Casino is seeking a Cage Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of the Casino Cage, safeguarding company assets and ensuring the accurate handling of all cash, chip, and monetary transactions. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) regulations, Title 31 requirements, and internal controls, while providing leadership, guidance, and oversight to Cage Supervisors and Cage Cashiers. The Cage Manager reports directly to the Director of Cage Operations and plays a critical role in operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and guest service excellence.

Responsibilities
Operational Control & Asset Protection
Oversee daily cage operations to ensure the secure handling of currency, coin, chips, markers, TITO transactions, and monetary instruments.
Ensure all cage operations are conducted in accordance with approved Internal Control Systems, NGCB regulations, and company policies.
Safeguard company assets by enforcing key control, vault access, and accountability procedures.
Verify the accuracy, documentation, and reconciliation of all coin, currency, and chip inventories.
Review daily cage balances and transaction summaries to ensure accountability and accuracy.
Ensure opening, closing, and shift change procedures are completed, documented, and verified.
Cage Operations & Financial Transactions
Ensure all cage banks are counted, balanced, and documented at the beginning and end of each shift.
Oversee and authorize cage transactions including check cashing, marker issuance and redemption, credit transactions, jackpots, TITO exchanges, and chip transfers.
Review and approve transactions requiring supervisory or managerial authorization in accordance with established limits.
Ensure all cage documentation is completed accurately and retained in accordance with internal controls.
Maintain operational oversight of all cage functions, including Main Bank, Chip Bank, and Team Member windows.
Compliance, Title 31 & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure compliance with NGCB regulations, Title 31 (AML/BSA) requirements, and approved Internal Control Systems.
Ensure Title 31 transactions, CTRs, MTLs, and MILs are properly identified, logged, reviewed, and reported within required timeframes.
Review, investigate, document, and resolve operational variances, discrepancies, or exceptions.
Execute corrective actions as required and escalate material findings to the Director of Cage Operations.
Coordinate with the Compliance Department and ensure completion of required training and certifications.
Leadership & Supervision
Supervise Cage Supervisors and provide oversight of Cage Cashiers to ensure adherence to procedures and controls.
Assist with scheduling and staffing to maintain adequate operational coverage.
Ensure team members understand and comply with performance expectations and regulatory requirements.
Review and approve high-risk or exception transactions within authorized limits.
Ensure training for new hires and ongoing procedural updates are completed and documented.
Guest & Interdepartmental Coordination
Ensure guest transactions are conducted accurately, professionally, and discreetly.
Address and resolve guest issues or escalations related to cage transactions in accordance with policy.
Coordinate with Surveillance, Compliance, Table Games, Slots, Revenue Audit, and other departments as required.
Reporting & Audit Support
Prepare, review, and maintain required operational, financial, and compliance reports.
Communicate operational issues, risks, and trends to the Director of Cage Operations.
Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections.

Skills / Experience
Must be 21 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least 3 years of casino cage operations experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
Thorough knowledge of cage operations, internal controls, and asset protection procedures.
Working knowledge of NGCB regulations and Title 31/AML compliance requirements.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and hold team members accountable to established standards.
Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency with cage management systems, computer-based data entry, and standard office equipment.
Ability to adapt to operational changes and maintain control in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
The ability to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Registration card.
The ability to submit to and pass a background check and drug test is required.

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of bags of cash and chips.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, kneel, crouch, and bend.
Ability to speak effectively and clearly.
Use hands to handle objects and operate machinery.
Ability to be exposed to smoke and noise levels between moderate to loud on the casino floor.
