Position Summary:
The Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of beverage service within the casino, including team management, inventory control, and Guest service, ensuring efficient and profitable operations. They are responsible for creating and maintaining a positive and engaging atmosphere for Guests, while also adhering to responsible alcohol service standards. A key aspect is fostering a positive and productive work environment through coaching, training, and performance management. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. This position will report directly to the Director of Food & Beverage.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
Supervise and direct the beverage team which includes hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining and scheduling of beverage supervisors, bartenders, beverage servers and bar porters.
Responsible for ensuring that the beverage inventory is properly managed, including stock control and waste reduction.
Implement and enforce safety procedures and policies.
Build a positive and supportive team environment by providing coaching and feedback, recognizing achievements, and fostering a sense of teamwork.
Ensuring Guest satisfaction through friendly and professional service, addressing complaints, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Build relationships with players and Guests, understanding their needs and providing excellent Guest service.
Responsible for ensuring and assisting in overseeing the daily operations of all beverage outlets, including casino bars, lounges, and casino floor service.
Develop and manage the beverage budget, analyze financial reports, and implement strategies to increase revenue, profitability, and Guest satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including responsible beverage service, gaming regulations and company policies.
Coordinate with other departments (Marketing, Culinary) to plan and execute promotions, special events and theme nights.
Implement team training programs to ensure high-quality service and product knowledge.
Responsible for ensuring that staff payroll is completed and approved prior to the close of payroll deadline.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Comprehensive beverage knowledge required with some culinary background or experience preferred.
Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve conflicts.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with Team Members, Guests, and vendors.
Extensive knowledge of beverage service, inventory management, and Guest service principles.
Ability to manage a team, delegate tasks, and provide feedback.
Understanding of financial management, inventory control, and revenue management.
Ability to identify and resolve operational issues, handle Guest complaints, and make sound business decisions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to handle Guest complaints, resolve issues, and make strong decisions under pressure.
Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, including Responsible Beverage Service (RBS), gaming regulations, and company policies.
Passion for Guest service and creating a positive Guest experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of five (5) years of supervisor or above experience in a full-service food and beverage Guest facing environment with responsibilities of overseeing multiple beverage outlets required; beverage manager experience preferred.
Beverage leadership experience in a casino environment preferred.
Current Food Handler Manager certification and RBS certificate required or ability to acquire one (employer will provide upon hire).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions.
Ability to sit, stand or walk for the duration of their shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
Ability to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, graveyard and holidays.
Work Conditions:
Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests. Work includes the maintenance and care of the assigned work area. Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage.
